The restoration process involves removing the original finish on the exterior, then treating any marks or blemishes and refinishing with a satin finish catalyzed protective lacquer. 

Color matching is done during the refinishing process and any lighter or darker patches or extension leaves are appropriately lightened or darkened to leave a consistent color across the complete surface.
